Your journey in the beauty industry
I am Yanitta Vasylevska, 26 years old, originally from Kyiv. I’ve been working in makeup for over 9 years. Throughout my journey, I’ve had many exciting experiences and have worked at events such as Milan Fashion Week and Fashion Week in Paris and Poland.
I took second place at an international makeup artists’ championship in Milan.
I studied in Paris at FLEURIMON school. I’ve worked with celebrity clients such as Nadya Dorofeeva, POSITIFF, and Artem Pivovarov, on the 1+1 and Novy Kanal TV channels, and on projects including “Top Model po-Ukrainsky” and “Kyiv by Day and Night.” I’ve also worked with brides and other clients, on photo shoots, and with brands.🤗
I’ve always been a creative person, but I never dreamed of becoming a makeup artist. However, I always had a talent for makeup and did my friends’ makeup at school.
My journey actually began with special effects makeup. I studied makeup for film and television, including prosthetic makeup, prosthetics, and special effects. But eventually, I realized that I was more inspired by the beauty of women and the world of beauty. I started taking courses and lessons from makeup artists who inspired me and developed my own style. To this day, I continue to work, learn, listen to my colleagues, find inspiration, and become the best version of myself.
Your top three personal work hacks
1. I’m one of the few makeup artists who starts makeup with the eyes and applies foundation afterward.
2. I believe that makeup without lashes is naked makeup!
Advice for those who want to try their hand in this field
Follow your heart’s calling; don’t be afraid that someone won’t understand you. You only live once, and if there’s something you want to do in life, you should try it. This is a creative field where your individuality shines, and there are no boundaries. Don’t be afraid of anything; be ready to experiment and stay open to everything new!
How we discovered our brand
I discovered the brand through my colleagues. I decided to try the new lashes myself, and I’ve been your devoted fan ever since 😍 Now I recommend not only the lashes but also the eyeshadows to my students 😉
Yanita, together with @svitlana_mosalova, has a platform and school in central Kyiv. At the school, you can learn the art of makeup and hairstyling at any level of complexity!
